Koen:After great releases from Exiled On Earth, Subhuman and Glacial Fear I was aware of the fact that the Italian underground flourishes like it never did before. One more talented act from that particular area is Golem, a melodic death metal band that was founded in 2000. The line-up is: Matteo De Bellis (guitars and vocals), Ottavio Marzo (guitars and backing vocals), Demonico Bottalico (bass guitar) and Damiano Porcelli (drums). The band has released three demo CD's so far. Their final demo 'Death Never Dies' was re-released through Diamond Productions / Adipocere.

After a mini-tour supporting Panic Cell in Golems home country, the recording sessions of 'Black Era', the bands first full-length, begun. This self-financed CD was recorded, mixed and produced by the band itself and they did a hell of a job. Since the demo era, the music has slightly changed from "Kreator meets Iron Maiden" to "Nightrage meets Children Of Bodom", opportunely mixed with own influences. Picture this: there are a lot of hostile tunes combined with harmonious riffs and authoritative vocals on this album. It's a pity these guys haven't inked a record deal yet because everybody should be able to acquire this one. Therefore I invite you to purchase this artefact through the bands website. Killer!
